We’re an energy retailer and generator with 1.6 million customers across eastern Australia, employing 2,300 people.
Everyone at EnergyAustralia plays a role in how we light the way with our customers and communities towards affordable, clean energy for all.
We keep the lights on for customers today, through our energy generation facilities powered by coal, gas and renewables, combined with large-scale storage. And we’re leading the delivery of the clean energy system of the future, with projects that will provide flexible generation and enable the growth of renewables. We’re making the transition simple for our customers.
We are committed to reaching net zero emissions by 2050. As part of this we’ll transition out of coal by 2040, in a way that doesn’t leave communities or our people behind. It’s all part of leading and accelerating the clean energy transformation with reliable and affordable energy for all.
EnergyAustralia is working to deliver its 2023-2025 Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan, our third RAP overall.
Our vision for Reconciliation is that we are a unified nation that acknowledges and celebrates First Nations peoples, their resilience, and their living cultures. This vision helps us achieve our purpose, to lead and accelerate the clean energy transformation for all Australians.
We launched our Reflect RAP in 2016 and our RAPs so far have increased Aboriginal Torres Strait Islander supplier diversity. We ask major suppliers who apply for contracts with us to demonstrate how they engage with their local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community. At our workspaces, our Acknowledgment of Country and local artwork displays signifies the Countries on which we operate on and demonstrate our respect by observing and exercising cultural protocols. Our all-EA activities during National Reconciliation Week and NAIDOC serve to build respect for Aboriginal Torres Strait Islander cultures and histories and our people are encouraged to join Cultural Learning opportunities both online and face-to-face throughout the year. Lastly, and importantly, we continue to build and strengthen our connections with Traditional Owners in the Countries in which we operate on.
